10/8/09 Big trip to Target

I fell off the time shedule last night and didn't get to bed until--well too late. I got out of bed at 9:00 and decided not to fool around. I jump into the shower and get started. I get a call from Carl who will help us with our trees, hopefully. He's an interesting person with many degrees and many accomplishments and he's going to be teaching a course on inventions at IU. He hopes.

He has also studied meditation in India, more from a Buddhist point of view. His experience of the Dhali Lama was similar to many people's experience of Hindu Shaktipat. I'm looking forward to hearing more. He also thinks numbers, math. So Luke should enjoy that part of the conversastion.

Luke and I go to Target. We're after a bed cover. Finally. I don't like what I see. But Luke wants to go home with something. So I buy a soft blanket which is cheap. ($39.99) It's a pretty dark brown and will go well with our sage green walls and new coco brown carpeting. But folks, its not a bed spread. It's a blanket and it doesn't quite fit. I think we're going to keep it anyway and once our bed shirt is on, it will look nice. Well, Luke was just so insistant about getting the project done today. And I couldn't get behind the bed spreads that they had in Target. My plan is that I'll keep looking and when I find the perfect spread, I'll use the blanket in the guest room. Hopefully it will fit.

There was a lot of rain today. Luke asked me if I wanted to do something else. I was tired and just wanted to go home and warm up. I made us both a cup of hot tea.

Em called to say what fun it was and how happy she was to have my imput on her secret birthday surprise for Bobby. That was nice.

MKate and I talked about kids and their in-laws and stuff.
