9/29/09 Dr Hanson is funny again, Light treatment
Dr Hanson is my dentist. He's known for his wild sense of humor. Last tuesday, Dr Hanson wasn't in the mood for humor. Bummer. But today, he was in the best mood. On Friday one of his daughters is getting married.
We have a new dental tech. I hope that Victoria isn't planning to leave. The new girl is funny as well. You need a sense of humor to work with Dr Hanson. But I know Victoria's story. We were happy when she got married, got a new house, pets--rabbits and dogs-- and now a little baby boy.
My appointment was supposed to take 1/2 hour, so I thought I had plenty of time to get to Dr Logan's office in Fishers and be on time for a 4 p.m. appointment. Wrong. The dental apointment took 1 & 1/2 hours. Yes. Dr Hanson was using an experimental technique for the first time. It was kind of fun but scary. He was talking to Victoria about the flaws in the new process and how he wasn't going to use it again--all while working in my mouth. And yet, between the jokes and the fun going on in the office--I couldn't get too worried.
I called Dr Logan's secretary about coming in late. She said come because I have this bad viral problem but don't walk into the front door. When she sees me drive up, she come outside with a mask and I can walk around the back of the office and enter through one of the back doors. Secret Agent Woman. In some ways I'm glad I had to go through the drama. The back area of the building is simply wild and beautiful like a vacation to a tropical land. Reeds and cat tails blowing in the wind, wild flowers and a huge pond with water reeds and flowers and a tropical look. I loved it.
I got a light treatment to encourage my glands to kick in and and work to make me well again. It's tiring, but eventaully it was over and I went home for a nap. I do feel better. Danika is my tech for the light treatments. I had her last year as well. It took three treatments to get me through. They are very $$$$$, so I hope that I can do with less.
