9/22/09 Dentist, Trader Joes, I sit outside
I am finally feeling better today. Yes. It's particularly good because I have a dental appointment. For some reason, Dr H is in a bad mood. He doesn't tell any jokes and he forgets to put numbing gel on my gums. The cleaning hurts, but I survive. Where are the jokes? Well, the appointment goes fast so that's good. I have a cavity. Bummer. I'll have to come back next week to get it worked on. I'm unhappy because the appointment is too early. I'll call and change it tomorrow.
I leave morning coffee in my car, so when my appointment is over--I have a treat to revive me. The appointment wears me out. I'm better but still not back.
I decide to go to Trader Joes. Luke wants more luncheon meat and I like the snacks and sample coffee that they always offer shoppers. What I love about the TJ's coffee is that they provide real cream and sugar. As you shop you have a yummy treat to sip on.
I see Paulina U. She shows me photos of her adorable new grandbaby. But she also tells me that her son has been very sick and the problems with her son keeps her from visiting the baby. She likes her doctor so that's good.
Paulina thinks that I should stay home from the "event" on Friday night. I don't know what to do. I know Luke wants me to be there with him. Usually I'd love the glamour, but I do not want a relapse. I remember last year.
At home I sit down. It's time to rest. I've had experiences where I feel better and . . . I stop taking care of myself. Not this time. I take all my medicines and I rest.
To get some exercise and some fresh air, I walk to the mail box. No mail worth looking at. Then I take my puzzles and phone and sit outside. It's so beautiful with just a hint of fall. I could get used to this. Rain calls to tell me about a house they have seen--she loves it. They have a basement which can be used as a playroom for the kids. We had that when our kids were young and they loved having a place to put on shows and entertain their friends.
After more than an hour, I go inside to rest before making dinner. I make acron squash, a fruit compote, we're having the Hake again but with a creamy sauce on it (left over but still yummmy.) and wild rice. Here's what I'm proud of. Sometimes plums are not fit to eat. They never ripen, just get rotten. I bought such plums, so I cut them up and made a delicious fruit sauce (I added brown sugar and dried cranberries.)
Cute story about Violet. She didn't want to sleep last night, so Rain brought her down to watch "Dancing with the Stars." Violet loved the show and decided that she wants to be a dancer. She stripped off all her clothes and put on her tutu--then she danced. Rain said it was so cute. Well, look at the costumes that the stars and dancers wear.
