8/29/09 Target, JB, and Movie Night
I did laundry and organizing this morning. For a short while, Luke and I sat in the backyard. So beautiful. The white roses are perfect. A few weeds but they seem to add to the beauty right now --green vines that twist and shine under the sun.
I went to Target and walked for a long time. I was looking for organizational items to help me get my work space straightened out. Also a gift for JB's new granddaughter AND grandson. Not twins. Her son and daughter-in-law didn't think they could have a child. They applied to adopt a nine year old boy. He must rock because so many other couples wanted him. They were selected and then she found out that she was pregnant. They were already attached to Austin and so they went ahead with the adoption and the birth. Both came within weeks of each other.
JB is a fan of Bapuji. Infact, she introduced Luke and I to Bapuji. I will always be deeply grateful and she says the same of me--I introduced her to Gurumayi. She asked me how my visit was and when I tried to discribe it, I started to cry--in Target. I'm not sure that I can talk about my experience. Words won't cover anything I really experienced so. . . . BJ and her husband are going to visit Prem/ Bapuji on the 9/23. I wish that Luke and I could be there at the same time. She thin
We talked for over an hour and I hate to talk on the phone. We plan to try to get together this year . . if both couples drive for 2 hours, we can meet in Louisville.
I got most of what I needed at Target. I was able to walk and talk on the cell phone. Not possible last year. Healing is moving toward me.
I got home in time to rest for a short time, and then get ready for the evening. We ate at . . . our fav Chipotles. Yummmmy. I love the veggie bowl. Black beans and rice with hot green chili sauce. The best. We ate outside. The weather was perfect. A little bird came looking for snacks. I didn't have crackers or bread for him. Instead I threw him a little kernel of corn. He loved it and came looking for more. Soon Luke was feeding him too. I know the corn had some hot sauce on it. We nicknamed him--Chipotles bird. He's gotten used to spices.
We went to Castletown which we usually don't do, but their hours are more civilized than Trader's Point. We wanted to see "Post Grad, " three stars and worth every one. Roger Ebert says , "A screwball comedy and a feel-good movie that made me smile a lot. " Yes. Michael Keaton rocks.
You will not believe this. I forgot to make pop corn. We had to eat movie theatre pop corn. $5 for a small plain and $5:50 for a small carmel corn. Mine was plain and very, very salty. I won't get on the scale tomorrow a.m.
I forgot to share: Yesterday I was talking to Camie's mom. She is such a practical two feet on the ground sort of person. She started telling a story about herself. She wanted a slice of Costco pizza and an ice cream bar before going to work. She almost didn't spend the time, but decided to treat herself. She only had time for one treat--pizza. Delicious . Behind her Costco was sampling the very ice cream bars she was craving. The flow. She said, "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you."
I asked her if I could use the quote and she agreed.
