8/18/09 Project Hair, MKate and I make a gift, Hatha

My hair is a project,  especially now that it's getting longer and longer.  I love saloon 7000.  The people who work there and who come as clients are great.  Gary is one of my heros.  He is smart and funny and he works with older people with so much love and respect.  When I see him,  I just have to smile.  I usually come on Tuesdays so I get to see his Tuesday clients.  The last one of the day is an older woman who must have been glamorous in her day.  She keeps her hair long and wears it in a dramatic upsweep.

Cher brought pictures of her granddaughter's wedding.  She was married outside under a tent. Her colors were green and yellow to bring the outdoors into her wedding theme.  He $1.000 cake was nice but I didn't see that it was worth the money.  She had three layers in varying sizes with white cream cheese icing and a kind of green ribbon around the layers.  She had to bring her own cake to location put it together and then add floral decorations.  Hummm.  Well,  she liked it.

Cher wore a black Vera Wang dress that she got at Khols.  She had a yellow flower which brightened it up and copper shoes.  Snazzy.

The bride wore a simple A line dress which looked very nice.  It was fun to hear Sher talk about her various family members and to see what they wore.

Then I came home and worked on Prem's gift with MKate.  We'll leave early Sat morning (as we did last year) and get to Chicago in time for Prem's Bday celebration and maybe have a few moments to see him before we head for the Krisha Temple where the party will take place. We're making the same gift that we made last year.  Little sacs of chocolate candy for Prem to give to those who visit him.  MKate wraps and I decorate.

The family of new students didn't come this week, but I had 6 students anyway--Barbara from St Luke's (it was great to see her again),  a new older student,  a young woman whose dad was a student from the JCC,  Matt and April and of course--MKate.

The class flowed and seemed to be over before I knew it.  The reading was about the power of yoga to affect the brain cells and the mind.  (in a good way of course.)  More on this as I work with it.
