8/12/09 Dr K, Shopping/ Lunch w Luke/Home

I love being home.  I'm looking forward to getting the pieces together so that I can move forward into my working year with good energy.

Yes there are a lot of pieces to pull together.  Today,  Luke and I went to Dr K and not a moment too soon.  The Bear Valley Bed hurt my back and threw me off.  Now it feels better.  He rocks.

Then we went to the close out sale of a high end kids clothing store.  We had so much fun picking out cute things for Violet and Xavier.  We got V a hippie dress in violet and X a hippie shirt in blacks and reds.  Just helping him get ready for his new magnet school.  I called MKate right away because I saw a dress that I thought was perfect for her little granddaughter Kayden.  I got the same dress for V but she may have to grow into it.

Then we picked up my car--yes, Firestone I knew a month ago that my battery was bad.  Now,  my second time back you see it too.  Well,  I had two belts that needed to be changed and I'm glad that was caught.  My car was happy and running smooth.

Oh,  yes.  Luke and I met the cutest dog at Firestone--a black pug named Frank.  He's 9 yrs old and so friendly and so soft to pat.  His mom  told us all about him and she picked him up for us.
Then we went to a sub place for lunch.  I loved the meal--the best hot sour dough bread-- crispy outside,  soft and moist and flavorful inside.  Should I call Guy? It was fun eating lunch with Luke.  We don't get to do that often.  The filling for my sandwich was delicious as well: turkey with fried onions and peppers and a topping of cheese.  Low cal.  Well, no . . .  tomorrow I go back on my strict diet.  I haven't hit the scale yet.  I'm kind of scared to do it.

After lunch,  Luke and I went to Target to get X his bday gift and a little something for sister.
Off to Target where we got X his birthday gift--a game for his Wii.  I did well walking.  Luke finally found the bath crayons that V wanted.  He was generous and got her two types of color: crayons and paints.  I don't want to go shopping with Luke again without both of us carrying either phones or those walkie talkies that we bought at the Bear.  I had to use the bathroom and had no way to tell Luke that he wouldn't find me where he left me.  Luckily,  he was still looking for V's crayons when I got back to pick out cards.  Still . . .  we should carry com tools.

Luke's car got an oil change.  We headed for home in our own happy cars.  ( and due to Luke's diligence Firestone accepted our many coupons and we saved OVER $ 55. 00.  Yay!

I had a long phone conversation with MKate.  I'm so happy that I have phone access again.  I'm not the kind that likes to talk to anyone of the phone--just a very few people and she's top on the list.  we could probably talk for 10 hours straight without taking a deep breath.

I felt like I should call Nana,  and I did.  People are trying to visit her more,  but it doesn't help when she's house bound and miserable.  I know she's in pain,  and the doc's don't care.  She's old.  They would have treated my mom that way,  but Barb and I wouldn't let them.  Ugg.  I should call her more and I will.  She has so much to share.  She's led such an interesting life.  Maybe next time I call,  I'll record her.  Meanwhile,  I try to tell her one uplifting story from my miracles project every time we talk.  She likes it.

Luke and I watched an adventure of "America' s Next Top Model,  " with Tyra Banks.  It's so interesting to see the personalities of the girls and how they interact.  Luke and I are rooting for the same girl.  She needs to step up confidence wise and we hope she does.

MKate and I talked again.  She told me about a miracle that her kids experienced.  God was with them and protected them from harm in a serious potential accident that wasn't.  Thank God.

So we got our cars taken care of.  I made an appointment with Sears to check out all our appliances on Friday and I talked to W David who will come over and get the wool,  which we hope to sell on e-bay and have $$$$ for our documentary.

I hope that I get a lot done tomorrow.
