8/11/09 Home is Where to GOOD BEDS are! (also 8/10)
Yes. I have broken my promise to myself to blog every day until our documentary is at a major film festival.
But, when you haven't gotten any good sleep for 2 1/2 weeks, you are entitled to a little slip. Anyway . . . . "And that's my new philosophy." (Charlie Brown, the musical)
Yesterday was a travel day. We got up and had our free breakfast at the hotel, which was nice and comfy but white bread. Luke loved it so don't tell.
I had to use a wheel chair. Never mind. It won't be forever. The long flight was to Chicago's Midway. I read a little and did a few puzzles. I always start a flight with prayer and ask all the Saints and Angels to be with Luke and I, with the pilot and crew and with all the passengers and their loved ones. I had planned very, very well and had a sandwich for us along with a few snacks to go along with the free drinks.
The plane was full. A young extreme rafter shared our line of seats. He was going back to school. He had a sandwich too along with a pile of snacks that he downed about like my on line pet, Durga--chomp, chomp, chomp. So funny and cute. I'm a fan of on line pets. Well, they don't shed.
Then came the bad surprise. Our take off from Midway to Indy would be late. Air terminal gossip said weather in Indy was a problem. Really it was weather in Penn. where the poor flyers had to go to Cananda before making a connection at Midway and getting on the last plane of the evening to Indy. Southwest waited for them. They said, what if it were you, wouldn't you want us to wait? And yes we would.
Here's where it got interesting. I had a spiritual experience that I'd rather not share. Immediately afterwards the plane fell several hundred feet, very fast and very noisy, and very scary. All the water that the hostesses were planning to serve hit the ceiling and then the floor. I prayed and I feel like God heard me. In seconds the plane righted itself and went smoothly and pleasantly on to Indy.
Poor Em and Bobby had to wait up for us. Nasty. Both had to be up early. Ugg. Next time we'll hire a student or a taxi.
We were off shedule and didn't get into bed until 3 p.m. BUT folks. I was sleeping in my own comfy amazing, why didn't I appreciate you before, bed. I slept through my alarm, although it rang itself through 3 cycles of noise and clatter and I didn't even hear it. I was so glad and grateful for a good nights sleep.
In the a.m. Luke and I had sheduled a conversation ride--very important before our school years begin. My car would not start. Bummer. In Luke's car, he won't keep the air conditioner on when the car is stopped. Not fun on a hot day.
We talk--we own thanks, non.thanks, presents, and bad words to many different people-- then we get Starbucks iced Americana-- Yummmy --and go home. Thanks so much to Bobby my really great son-in-law and Thanks so much to my twin/BFF MKate. You saved us and made us soooo happy. More on this greatness in our lives at another time.
The ladies that took the last Hatha Class before Bear Valley were back with a guy. One of the gals is getting married in October and she brought her cute fiancee. ( sorry but my blog doesn't have a spell check ) It's my dream come true. A growing class with people who love Baba's work as it filters through me, and don't care about my cane. Thank you God. The atmosphere in class was so incredibly peaceful. So blest. I'm grateful and fortunate. Next week I tell them about Bapaji.
OOOOHHHH. I heard from Nayna today. I can't wait to calll her back tomorrow. Soon I'll be sitting beside Bapaji and sharing light and happiness with my Chicago family. Hopefully Barbie can talk Alpana and Charles into coming as well.
All the participants
I go home and rest before getting ready for class.
