7/9/09 org papers/ paint to L's Bach/ Din Em and Bob

I got all my morning work done.  Then it's time to face the tax papers.  Jezz.  A mess of papers.  They are all over the upstairs den.  I just get started.  In the end,  it's peaceful and I work for several hours.  Luke comes to help me at the end.  He helps to recycle and shred.  Tomorrow,  I'll work again and then it will be his turn.  OMG.  I hope we get this done.

When I can't work on little papers anymore,  Luke and I go downstairs to begin our art/music project.  He sits on the exercise bike and plays Bach.  I open the two big canvasses and begin to prepare the surface.  I know from experience that this prep work won't be seen by the eye but it will be felt and it will set the tone for the finished paintings.  When I did my best work the bottom unseen layer of the painting was alive with an emotional vibration.  This work will have two large pieces and three smaller ones.  I like that Luke helped me pick out the sizes.  It's really going to be our work.

I learned a lot today about the way that Luke feels about Bach.  I wish I'd ask before.  It would have made a big difference to me as a listener.  I listened and went with what the notes said to me on a spiritual level.  Bach wrote for God.  He was praising God with his music.  He was talking to God with his music and I hope to do that as well.  I hope to use paint like notes and send them to the highest heavens.

Anyway.

Then Luke went for a rest in the garden and I played with my computer.

Then we joined Em and Bobby for dinner at Ocean World.  They are a fun couple to hang out with.  There's always something to laugh about.  I like Ocean World because I can eat a perfect diet dinner and still enjoy it.  I got grilled fish with broccoli and little red potatos.  Perfect.  And I didn't eat it all.  Em was saying that one night this week she ate a potato chip dinner.  She wasn't going to buy any chips .  She was going to buy veggies and healthy things,  but the chips kind of jumped into her cart.  I so know that feeling.

After dinner,  Luke and I went to the 1/2 price bookstore.  I finally found three books by the mystery writer Joanne Fluke.  She owns her own bakery.  And along the way solves crimes.  She has a tempermental cat and two boyfriends.  I also found a Blue's Clue's book for Violet on sale
for .50 cents.  I got an Arthur's book as well,  but I don't know if V will like it or not?  We'll see.  For 50 cents--who cares.

At home I watch "The Fashion Show."  Issac Misrachi is so cool.  I know that the two women who one the first two spots in fashion week deserved to win.  The third guy is nasty but talented.  The last two . . .  well I thought the one they let go had a lot more talent than the one they kept.  We'll see.
