7/23/09 finish 17 days vits, B-town,

Got up and accomplished my morning,  then got down to the task--17 days worth of vitamins.  O.K. folks.  This is not an easy job.  This job takes thought and time.  What I have when I get to Bear Valley I have--to use daily and to use for times when I don't feel my best.

I finished most--the lion's share of the work-- before we left for B-town.

You know.  I don't view time the way a lot of people do.  I used to drive 3 1/2 hours to Chicago to see my mom--even though I knew it would only be for a few hours.  But when I was with her,  I was there having fun and focusing my attention on her.  She always loved the visits and we had something fun to talk about for days and days.  So I knew we wouldn't have much time to spend with Rain and her family,  but we went anyway.

The day was beautiful,  washed in sunlight.  Warm without being hot.  Not too much traffic.  Luke and I are happy that we got a big piece of our travel puzzel done.

Of course,  MKate helped.  She brought me the snack bags that I needed and without that help,  I would have had to go after them myself.  And thank you Kay.  You gave me all your snack bags and they were almost enough.  So nice of you.

We didn't stop at Starbucks.  There wasn't enough time and it wasn't necessary.  We were eating early.

I went through my mental files and recalled that we had to exit on Colllege,  and then go straight until turning left on Kirkwood.  Rain's office is just a few blocks from the center of B-town.  She came right out and we were off to pick up Violet.  What a doll baby.  She's so adorable that it must be hard for X--even though he is a very handsome young person himself.  So photogenic.  If Rain were that kind of mom,  he would be modeling.

Ryan told me that they have some footage of X surfing.  I know his balance rocks so it doesn't surprise me.

We ate at Lenny's the scene of Violets fall from the booster chair.  Luckily she doesn't want one anymore.  The waitress remembered.

I gave Violet her necklace.  I'm starting her on a collection of play clothers.  She loves necklaces.  I'm hoping to find one that she'll love that's just her size.

Then--oops--Xavier came in from the last day of summer camp.  I gave him and Violet the Pokemon cards taht I bought so many weeks ago.  Remember when I called Rain from Target and asked if I should get a different type of card for Violet to collect.  Turns out that I should have followed my own mother's instinct.  X got first pick,  but V had two prime cards in her little pack.

Now just like I don't let time limit my thinking,  I also don't believe in bland emotions.  People should be allowed to feel what they feel.  X didn't not feel happy.  I really like the way Rain and Ryan handle the darker emotions.  X didn't want to eat,  he didn't have to.  He didn't want to be pleasant,  he didn't have to.

At the end of dinner,  X and I did talk a little about Pet Society.

Then we all hugged and wished each other happy, safe and all good things for the next few weeks.

Mother's instinct manifests the force that anticipates the unknown event that maybe harmful or useful to her children and family. Sometimes it is misunderstood as paranoia but it's unavoidable especially if a woman becomes a mother.
