7/2/09 breakfast w Liz, Shop w Luke, Fab movie
Met at La Peep for breakfast with Liz. I found out another fun thing that we have in common--Liz likes People Mag too. She knows the same fun facts about the stars that I do. Yay. Luke and I sometimes debate whether his obession with sports is better than mine with the stars and really I think they're both the same--fun.
We talk about our families, our up coming miracle workshop, my surprise blessing and other things that I thought Liz should know. In my heart, I don't think that we'll have a lot of people at this first workshop. It's not time. I do think some people will come and give their miracle stories to the camera. It will be an important part of our collection period for the film. Of course the universe can suprise you sometimes.
As always the coffee at La Peep is good which is important to me. My breakfast food is reasonable for my diet and very good. I got an American breakfast--scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and one piece of wheat toast with no butter--I brought flax oil.
When I got home, Luke's former student, Michael S was here. He had learning disabilities and he had to work very, very hard to grow as a student and as a musician. He was willing. We are proud of him. Now he has an amazing job with a school in Montana, and an orchestra position as well. He's loved and appreciated. He also grew as a person and was recently able to make a hard personal decision that most young people would have been daunted by. Yay, Michael.
After Michael left Luke and I went shopping for towels and juice glasses. (we don't have regular drinking glasses either) We decided to "spend " our time in Bed, Bath and Beyond. " We have lots of 20% off coupons and we hope to use them. Ooops. Their towels aren't just what I'm looking for AND they are too expensive. Scratch that. We go looking for glasses. And yes we find them. We got a set of 16 reasonably attractive juice and regular glasses for a decent price. (8 and 8) They aren't glass heaven, but they beat the jars that have been using. So the trip wasn't a waste.
We stopped in the 1/2 price bookstore in search of a model kids story for me to count words and chapters, and more books in Xavier's "Magic Tree House, " collection.
Then home to rest a few minutes, eat dinner and get ready for our movie. We saw " Easy Virtue." So amazing. As the critics said, Yay, Noel Coward. The acting was also amazing. I think we'll be seeing a lot of Oscar nominations for all aspects of the film. If you read this blog, go see Easy Virtue. You'll be so glad you did.
