7/16/09 L and spend the day together having fun
I find $5.00. That's a good start to the day. Rain sends a photo of the family at "HERSEY." Hersey PA is a great family memory for Luke and I. We went there every summer for years when our girls were littles. We didn't always have lots of $$$$ and most of the time couldn't afford to go in the amusement park, but we always had ice cream sundaes for breakfast and rode the little train around the story ride that showed how chocolate was made and everyone got a little present. Then we were on our way to mom's house for summer fun at the beach.
Luke and I go out to get chores done and to spend the day together. We start at Staples to get some art supplies that I need for our trip to Bear Valley, and a black ink cartridge for the printer. There I meet a young man (early 40's) who has gone back to school for digital animation. He is interested in the film project. W David was excited about having Mark as a possibility for our project. I feel that God is behind us in the Miraclesproject. I left Staples thinking OMG I almost didn't go in because I thought of going to Michaels for my art supplies. BUT I did go in and Mark said--"Are you an artist?" One word led to another, and now I have Mark's info. So exciting. Oh yes. Mark signed us up for a free program that saved us over
$3.00 . Money from heaven.
We went home to set up the printer so I could print out my 1/2 price bookstore's 40% off coupon. We worked together but we couldn't do a black and white print out (the way Cat showed us). We'll have to call the Cat. Still we got a print (in color) and off we went.
Our next stop was DMV. Luke wanted to renew his drivers license. We thought it would be easy but NOOOOO. Because of the bogus ticket he got for turning right onto 86th--they put a brand new sign up to trap people. He now has points on his license. Soooo he has to take the written test with no preparation. Gads. He missed by ONE sign. Now he has to go back tomorrow and take the d---- test again.
While I was waiting for Luke I saw this little boy acting so well for a three year old. But so bored. And noone brought him a toy, not even one. I wanted to help. I gave him one of my markers that I keep in my purse for the littles. I gave him the red marker and some paper. He was so happy. He started drawing right away. He's talented. Luke and I said so. He smiled. He won't forget and who knows where he'll take it? I gave him a soft grey marker as well. I think of that as a miracle moment.
We went on to half price books . We love to wander in there looking for the unexpected and finding little treasures.
At home a young man came to the door and sold us a year worth of great discounts at a local family run garage. For $70.00, we get discounts all year. Luke gets to try it out very soon, when he gets his oil change.
Yes.
