7/1/09 Dr K, Abbey and Max, NM
I went to Dr K. Talked to Judy B on the way. Prem is here. He's in New Jersey. I'm so excited.
Judy told me that I just can't get a puppy. She reminded me of the experiences that she and Lenny had with their naughty puppy. I think I'm actually giving up on the idea of a pet--for now.
My appointment was strange. Amy usually gets me in to a waiting room on time. I got to the office early and she by passed me. I knew I wanted to get home early so I could get a few things done before MKate and her grandkids came. Finally, I did get my turn but I spoke to Amy about the problem. I hope it won't happen again.
Dr K said that he feels a new motion in the area where I'm hoping for healing. I told him that I think that Dr Pearl's work could bring my miracle. He saw my xray and he started to say--forget it. I reminded him that God could turn anything around. And then he agreed.
I still have pain and need to walk with a cane, but I feel changes in my emotions, and in my body. I'm waiting for the day when I put down my foot and . . . . my body is 12 again. More on this later.
I hurry home and do get lunch. Also a little time to dress Durga and get her ready for the day. If she's going to be my only pet . . . I might as well enjoy her.
Okay. Max and Abbey are MKate's grandkids. I've always liked them. Since my character for the kid's book is nine, and since I don't remember what I was like at nine, and since Abbey IS nine right now--I asked her if I could interview her. And I delighted her by paying her $5.00 for her effort. Max and MKate helped as well. They got my tape player working. (Now I need "The Bionic Cat, " to put the words on my computer. )
Okay. The kids came and no one was really sure where we were going. Abbey kind of sat on my exercise bike--across the room from me. I showed everyone my germinal notes. They were interested. I asked Abbey simple questions. How do you get to school? What are your fav subjects? Who are your friends? Who is your best friend? I wanted to hear how she uses words and what interests her in school. It was a very, very interesting interview. I got some of it on Word but it's all there in the little tape player. (I'm hoping that MKate can teach me how to use it)
Soon MKate, Max and Abbey were all in dialogue. So much fun conversation. At a certain point, Abbey was tired. So we stopped. I have plenty of information to work with. Kids have amazing minds. Imaginative.
Abbey is a lovely little girl. A fascinating human being. She sported long black nails with flower designs on them. She's confident. Sweet and funny.
Max has an amazing face. He's very handsom, but it's more than that. I told Luke that Max is complex--more so than most people I know of any age. He's mischievous, that's true, and I know that he can be mean with he's tired or hungry. But underneath the usual kid stuff there's a crystal child. Like getting to know a wild meadow. I'm not sure I can discribe what I see in Max or Abbey for that matter, but I had a great time with the interview and got many new ideas for the book.
I had to pick up Luke's perscription before going to work. CVS claimed not to have it. I knew that they did. But how to prove it. As I was waiting for the someone to check again and again not find the perscription, someone called my name. It was my old friend, J's, daughter. She told me a very tragic story about her recent illness. I was stunned. I could barely speak. I went outside where her mom was waiting. We hugged. Again I was almost speachless. This young woman was about to be married when the terrible diagnosis was delivered. The wedding had to be canceled. I'm going to pray hard and hope that God hears me.
When I first got to NM, I felt shaky and weird, I've known this young woman since she was a teenager. I took a lot of Rescue Remedy. There was a lot of work to be done, and I was grateful that I could focus on work. Coco was supportive and tried to help as best she could.
The work day was a blur of vitamin bottles and prices. Coco said that she hoped I could finish the whole Solgar order and put it away. Greg put the products away. Later Max, Abbey and MKate came in and Max helped me. He's smart, and observant. He caught several bottles of vits that were broken--cracked under a heavy plastic wrap. I asked him how he saw the breaks, he said the color of the bottles were different.
