6/28/09 Church NM, Dinner w Em and Bobby

Got up a little tired,  but managed to get most of my routine done.  This is good.  Pastor Millard won't be preaching,  and sometimes we don't go for a sub preacher.  Even our choir was out of town.  But I like the sermon title and I know I always feel better when I go to Church--the Holy Spirit is there in the songs and in the words.  So  we go.

Pastor John Myrland preached.  He started as a business man who was active in St Luke's since 1981.   Now he's preaching in McCordsville.  I didn't know what to expect.  The title of his sermon was: " And Angels Attended Him."  That was the title that drew me.

First Pastor Myrland read from Psalm 91:1-12   fav parts  " He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. . . . . He is my refuge and my fortress,  my God  in whom I trust."  Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.  He will cover you with his feathers,  and under his wings you will find refuge;  his
faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  You will not fear the terror of night,  nor the arrow that flies by day,  nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,  nor the plague that destroys at midday.   . . . .  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands,  so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

I am so drawn to the protection of the angels.

I loved the sermon.  It worked for me.  He said,  "Angels are God's messingers on earth.  They remind us of how powerful God is.  This is so important to me.  As I work toward healing to be with and to trust in the power of God and of his helpers the angels.

Pastor talked about his own recent health issue,  and how the angelic spirit came through for him in his wife,  all the healtlh personel who worked with and on him  ,  and his friends and Church family.  All were there for him,  helping him to recover.

After Church I went home for a snack and then to NM.  Matt hurt his arm.  It was bleeding and I felt bad for him.  Poor kid.  We talked quietly about movies and life.  He feels like family to me.  We worked with what few customers came in.  It was a beautiful day,  so people played outside.

Bobby has serious things on his mind--his mom isn't doing well and she's so very,  very unhappy.  It breaks his heart.  We eat at Puccinis.  I can decide to stay on my diet here and I did.  I got a salad with grilled chicken and dressing on the side.  Also a child's portion of pasta with tomato sauce.  Dinner was nice as always,  but the sadness  over Dan's mom ate with us.  I'm going to pray that the best decision is made for her future and her happiness.

After dinner,  Luke and I went to the 1/2 priced book store.  One of the healers at St Luke's was there and we talked.
