6/20/09 Btown, Hotel, Max's Pizza, and Musical

We get ready and were out of the house on shedule.  The day is beautiful for a drive.  I'm in the witness position.  I have to learn from my losses and sad experiences.  That's why things go awry.  You have to step back and learn,  so you can grow.  I don't want to talk about serious things,  so Luke and I just have fun.

The kids are in their bathing suits.  X is in trouble with his mom for not cleaning his room when asked as well as other offenses.  V and I sit on the sofa and look through a book on numbers.  I know she's beyond it,  but the pictures are colorful and fun.

Rain has been upstairs.  I think that sometimes,  when your kids are out of control,  you have to go "upstairs" and thats what I did when my kids were young.   Xavier was quiet.  I know he felt bad in his heart.  I stayed quiet too and just looked at his Pokemon cards and let him tell me about them.  Then,  Ry took him outside,  and Luke went with.  X played in the hose and sprinkler.  When he came in,  Rain was downstairs and ready to help the kids get dressed for dinner.  We were going to Max's.  The kids love Max's pizza.  Everyone cooperated.

I love driving through Btown.  At the restaurant,  we sit down.  Everyone is behaving.  I get a salad and put flax oil on it.  I have a little pizza--crispy crust (yummm) with lots of melted cheese,  artichoke heart and sun dried tomatoes.  Yummm.  Max's pizza tastes great and the decor is cool.  There's a little stage where they have musicians and other entertainments.  Violet gets on stage and starts dancing.  I get a single picture of her dancing with Rain,  but it's enough to keep the memory alive--now and in the future.

We bring the kids home.  The sitter is waiting on the front porch.  The kids are going to be good.

Rain and Ry,  Luke and I get into the car and head for Brown County--and the musical.  Strangely there is a bizzare traffic jam.  What?  We are going to be late .  It doesn't matter.  It's an evening of songs and dances from the 1930's.  We only miss one song and dance number. The actor/singers are students from the I.U. who will probably be professional one day.  So much fun!!!! We eat flavored popcorn for desert.  The costumes are awesome,  the on stage trio is awesome--piano,  bass and drums.

Afterwards we stand outside enjoying the summer night--and talking to a couple that Rain and Ry know.  Perfect.
