5/3/09 Church, NM and Em's Homecoming!
Got up in time to do some of the shedule. Only a few asanas, but sometimes, on Sunday a.m. , I don't do any. So it's good to do some. That's what I tell my students.
Pastor preaches about Luther and about the Presbytarian sides of Christian worship. What stood out for me is that Grace is free from God and cannot be earned. After you turn around and recognize the Glory of that Grace in your life, then you can share it. You'll want to. The swine flu was a force in the room. Pastor said many times, don't shake hands after the service or try to hug anyone. You can touch elbows or bow. And he said it more than once.
I had a light brunch and headed off to work.
It was a light day, but we worked it. And at the end, I think we did close to 1,200. Not bad for the customer hand that we were dealt. One woman returned a cheap bottle of Lysine $7.50 a few hours after she bought it. She lied and said that her M.D. told her she didn't need it. She called her M.D. on a Sunday to ask about a vitamin and he answered. I doubt it. But there were a few fun customers and that always makes our day. Matt and I work so well together and no matter how busy we might be we always get in some good conversation.
After work, I rest a little and then get ready to meet Em and company for dinner. Em is tired but not as tired as I expected her to be. We have several people at the table: Bobby, Em and the kids--Evan and Jennifer, Brian and Emily and the adorable Noah. I sat near Em and so did Luke. We were fascinated with stories of her trip to Israel. God did protect her. Shortly after she left Israel, there was a bomb blast. I was so grateful that our sweet daughter was safe.
I wanted to ask more detailed questions about the spiritual aspects of her trip. But it wasn't possible with so many family members talking. I'm hoping to have coffee with her before long.
We ate at Puccini's. A good family type restuarant. They have the best salads.
