5/30/09 Alexis' Grad party/ "Up" Claudia and Irwin

Got up in a relaxed way.  Em called to talk about my up coming B day.  We talked about other issues as well but I'm not ready to bring it all up.  I will say that adults carry on even when they don't agree with one another.  That's actually comforting.  Then I don't have to feel responsible for someone else's decisions.  Also different decisions create texture and interest in life.  That's also good.

In the afternoon,  I went to a graduation party for Alexis.  I've watched her grow up with courage and spirit.  She's a strong young woman and has created goodness out of a hard hand.  Her mom is my hero.  She stood by that child in every way.  Alexis graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class.  I enjoyed her party.  Donna served healthy food and did not try to push cake on me after I told her that I was dieting.  I met Donna's parents,  her ex and others in her family.  Katherine came and we got to talk as well.

When it was time for me to leave,  Donna and Alexis came out to chat and thank me for coming.  Donna is so positive.  Her ex boyfriend was such a wretch,  breaking up with her on line--no explanation given.  She now sees this as a way to grow.  She also has confidence in a future husband that will be responsible enough to create a relationship that lasts.  Alexis brought her pretty black cat out,  and I got a cute photo of them.  Oh yes.  While Donna and I were outside talking,  a little squirrel came over to share space with us.  Squirrels never come near people but he did.  Adorable with pale delicate feet and hands and a red tail.  He found a bit of corn chip and ate his fill,  then scampered away to bury the uneaten part.  Donna and I felt sure that this was an good omen.  I also so it as part of the flow of the divine that I've been experiencing lately.

I dashed over to Trader Joe's for cheese and other needed items.  Getting a perfect little cup of coffee while I shopped.  Thank's TJ's.  I'm in the flow of the Divine.  My check out guy was in a bad mood,  but I was able to cheer him up and make him smile.  Easy and good feeling.

I rested a bit and then Luke and I met Claudia and Irwin at their fav restaurant El Torino for dinner.  I ordered grilled chicken with a delicate citrus sauce flavored with a hint of spice and savory.  The chicken was moist.  I hate dry chicken.  This was scrumptious.  The potato/rice dish was good but fattening so I only ate a little.  Last a little sweet corn bread and juicy veggies.

We dashed to the movie theatre (if you can call what I do dashing)  Claudia and Irwin are usually too sophisticated movie wise for us.  But (thanks flow) they agreed and actually liked the movie.  "Up" is animated/Pixar for kids and adults.  It got 3 1/2 stars and deserved every one.
