5/24/09 Family Brunch with Les and Cherryll
We meet the family and two really good, old friends at The Village breakfast place. Luke and I like the simple down home cooking. Nana was willing and able to go with us. So there was Nana, Luke and I--Luke's cousin, Ina and her husband, Irving, her daughter, Beth (my friend) and Beth's daughter, Shayna. And Les and Cherryll. Les was one of Luke's earliest BFF. And here they are so many years later, still good friends. Cherryll is a happy, positive, up lifted person. She has one of those awful diseases, but you would never know by her peaceful, joyful presence.
I like to eat eggs when I travel. I had a veggie omelet with wheat toast (no butter.) And coffee which I brought with me from Starbucks--the god of coffee. We all talked to everyone. Joked around and had the best time. We took pictures which inspired me to eat very carefully.
I got to know Shayna better. A child to be proud of. She's going into medicine, forensics. I was fascinated. Em was thinking about going back to medical school for the same reason.
After a long brunch and picture taking session, we said our goodbyes. Took Nana home and went back to our Motel for rest and computer time. After all I had to feed Durga, my on-line pet. L's bro Jerry wanted to show us his computor album, so he came along. We saw his grand kids and some land that he owns.
We brought food back to Nana's for a brother's dinner. Jon, Jerry and Luke. Nana and I.
We talked until it was time for bed.
