5/17/09 Church/NM/ Dinner at Em and Bobbys

Luke went to church at the crack of dawn to play three services with the St Luke's orchestra.  I am spoiled with him bringing me my tea,  juice and vitamins each day.  I had to pad down and get my own.  On those days,  I glance at the paper while drinking my juice and taking my vits.  I bring the tea upstairs.  I am on those diet oils.

I got a few essentials done as well as a few exercises.  Then down for breakfast.  I talk to MKate on the way to church.  I shared that I've already lost 2 lbs on her new oil diet.  I'll go into detail when it's 10 lbs.

The parking lot is full.  Cars are hunting parking spots.  I visualize a spot and there it is.  I jump in and it's off to the main sanctuary with minutes to spare.  Luke sees me and laughs as I edge in.  But that's o.k.  I'm there for all the hymns and all the prayers.

Paster preaches on our Methodist tradition.  It's fascinating.  A man named Wesley is raised by a strong,  faithful and disciplined mom.  He brings this discipline for prayer and worship with him when he goes to college.  And then into his life as an Anglican priest.  He begins preaching the doctrine of love--God's love for all and our love for God.  When Jesus was asked what was the most important law he said to love God totally and completely  . . . and second to love our neighbors.  God must have a sense of humor where it comes to me.  I don't get on with my right side neighbor and don't even speak to her,  now I don't get along with the new neighbor either.
What do I have to learn from this?

I come home and eat brunch,  then head for Nature's Market.  Matt is already helping a customer.  He shows me a photo of his new art work.  It's mystic and lovely.  It's exciting since he gave up a painting when he went to Calif to save $$$$.  This beautiful print was only $100.

We talk about all our projects.  There aren't many clients.  The ones we have are strange and unpleasant.  We work with them anyway.  I feel that some of these clients came out of yesterday's movie.  Not right.  Or at least to Matt and I.  One client complained.  We ignored her.  What to say.

Jahana came in.  She loved the movie and we talked about it.

After work,  Luke and I joined Em and Bobby for dinner.  Em had photos of her trip to Israel.  I saw historical sights.  Places that are mentioned in the Bible right next to barbed wire fences and modern buildings.  She has a photo of the spot where Jesus was baptized.  And some ancient temples that were the seeds for Kabala.  Very lovely and ornate.

Dinner was delicious.  We had fun seeing Jennifer's art photos for her school project, and talking to Em and Bobby.
