It's freezing. My daffodils are so sad. Their little heads are bowed down. Such beautiful flowers. Daffodils are fragile and bright, and varied with their centers ranging from orange to pale yellow. Luke and I are fans of the color yellow. Of sunlight and happy days.
Freezing compared to the days when I was wearing my summer clothes. No. I'm not wearing socks. Well, it's a moot point. I'm still congested and needed to stay home. Resting helps.
I was tired so I didn't hope to get a lot accomplished. I just wanted to relax. I did a few e-mails and I did talk to the family. Nana called. I talked to her because she's lonely and facing a lot--not only with her health but also with her son's condition. But she got irritable toward the end of our conversation and a little ugly. I had to take a deep breath and remind myself not to answer. Right at the critical time, the doorbell rang. Nana had one of her rare visitors and that solved the problem. I'm trying not to think about the sharp words. It's a good challenge. Eknath Eswaran teaches that if you can stand away from your negative thoughts they lose power.
I talked to Rain. I was excited to her her news. I'm lighting candles. She told me that V loves her birthday photo that Rain snapped outside Luke and my garage. She was wearing jeans and a little tea and her new Fancy Nancy pink and pretty ballet skirt. Rain said that this morning V looked at the picture and said, "Violetta. Violetta is cute." I just love that innocent pleasure that she has about herself. Good job Rain and Ry. She also said another cute thing. She's been out of school for a few days with a cold and fever. This morning she told her mom that she was feeling sad. Rain asked her why. She said that she missed her boyfriend. So cute at age two.
I talked to all my kids. It was good . And also, as always to my BFF--the fabulous MKate.
I'm still glowing about the film maker.
Luke had a great time tonight bonding with our grandson, Even. Our Bobby, Evan and Luke went to a Pacers game and had great seats. A great time for Luke who deserves to enjoy.
Confession. I like to kick back and play all day--once in awhile.
