4/9 chickadee in the bushes
I love chickadees. They're small and their feathers look like fur to me with the little black cap of "fur" on their little heads. This morning I was washing the breakfast dishes and looked out the window to see a chickadee eating the last of winter's left-over butterfly bush. So thrilling to see how happy and full of energy he was.
This was Luke and Willow day. We didn't go to B town but we got a lot of shopping done, and we were together. First we went to my love/hate jewelry store Jareds. When I was there last, I saw a beautiful cross with a rose on it. I wanted to give that to my little student Laura. She's taking her vows to become Catholic. It's not a fast decision for her. I've know her since she was 4 or 5 and she's been talking about this shift for a long time.
I wasn't comfortable with Jared's during our Christmas present search and didn't think I'd ever go there again. But Luke bonded with one of the salesmen and I did want to buy that rose cross for Laura. When we searched the rose cross was gone. I saw a pretty gold cross with the Christ figure on it. But the salesman, not a kid and not new to this business, could not get the paper work done. People came over to help him, and still things weren't right. Time was slipping by. Not pleasant. No I won't go here again. Then after what seemed like years, the salesman came over to us with the news that the cross we picked had a dent. Errrg. At this point, I thought they should have offered us a discount. They didn't.
Luckily we found a cross that we liked even better. It had a diamond where the favored rose would have been. I loved it, Luke loved it and we know that Laura will love it as well. So perfect. And it came with a chain. Extra perfect. So adorable. We were happy.
Oh yes, Luke bought me a palm tree charm for my charm bracelet, just because. I love it and will go in sometime soon to have it attached to my bracelet. Beautiful and happy and reminding me of tropical climes and warm weather. I have my eye on a fish charm as well. Maybe I will go back again. Just for the fish charm.
We left Jared and went to Target to fill up Easter baskets. We also scored two bottles of Lemi-Shine. Not easy to find. Luke knew in his heart that Lemi-Shine was there. And it was. Also Luke is the master card finder. We needed two important cards . He scored them both. I'm always looking for cute animals. Not always appropirate.
A few more stops and we were done in more ways than one. We came home and crashed.
We had dinner and watched Jeopardy. A very interesting day. The cross selection was blessed. We had already paid for one cross, pretty but not exactly right. Now we have exactly right.
