4/21/09 Andy and Andrea rock/Hatha Yoga class
Another rainy day. Grey but beautiful. I told you. I like the soft greyness of rainy weather. The almost blue clouds. It's damp and cold. But as long as I don't see snow or ice, I'm happy.
I finish my whole routine. After breakfast, Andy and Andrea come over to talk about our garden. They are artists. We've been very lucky with artists in our garden, but Andy and Andrea are the best. They know so much and have such love for gardens. They dream in color and plants like I do.
I am so excited to get started. We'll have bird feeders, and stone walks, and a swing that Luke and I can sit on and chat. I've always wanted a magic garden.
They leave and I am off to get my oil changed before our trip to B town. I'll tell you I'm already past the 3,000 mi. I want to call MKate and see how her trip went. But she sounded tired last night and I didn't want to disturb her. She'll call me when she's up for a conversation. At Firestone, they tell me the usual lie--It will take under an hour. Right. It's a good thing that I don't believe them. But what do I care, there is a Starbucks right next door. The soft chair that I love is available and I work on my music. I love to work at Starbucks with all the life and all the interesting people around me. Faces that discribe a life.
After an hour, I return to Firestone and I hear another lie. I know it's a lie so no problem. The service guy says, "It's almost done. " Right. I don't think so. But when my car is done, the drive it to the curb for me and I don't have to get wet. So I forgive them. You can't really be mad when you already know how it will be.
I had time to go to the Half Price Bookstore. I wanted to pick up some books for the kids. Xavier has fallen in love with a magical series that is like the kind of stories that Rain and I used to love when she was little. Now she's reading to Xavier. Actually he's reading to her.
I got a few things for Violetta as well.
Then home to get ready for class. MKate called and wanted to come. I was surprised that she has so much energy after such a long trip. Later she shared her adventures in Costa Rica with me and with the others in class. She did something called a zip ride--very scary, very physical. MKate is brave. I told her that I would have been at the spa getting a massage. Well actually, if I got to chose a vacation, I'd want it to be luxe. Well, that's me. But I am going to enjoy hearing all about MKate's adventures!
The class was sweet and went quickly. I asked MKate if she wanted to try to teach my meditation class while I am in El Paso. She's thinking about it. I think it would be a good part of her spiritual path. You have to put yourself away if you're going to teach.
