4/19/09 Church; NM and Em and Bobby

Pretty clear a.m. but cold.  Such is april.  And rainy.  Puddles in the back yard.  Our front yard has turned into a yellow carpet.  Will Andy and Andrea be able to save our lawn?  Without using poison?

I expected to be more tired this morning and to fight getting up.  Showering right away always helps.  But I wasn't as tired as I expected to be.  I got ready for church fast.  Luke moves more slowly in the a.m. --when he can.  We are almost late.  The music has stared.  We sit on the left instead of the right side of the main aisle.  It feels strange.

This was the Sunday that Pastor M explored the Jewish faith and how that faith was at the heart of our Chirstian faith.  It was very interesting.  The core of the sermon was a reading from
Deuteronomy 6:4-9  "Hear,  O Israel: The Lord is our God,  the Lord is one.  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,  and with all your soul,  and with all your might.  Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart.  Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away,  when you lie down and when you rise.  Bind them as a sign on your hand,  fix them as an emblem on your forehead,  and write  them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

Like yoga like all religions this reading focuses on putting God first in mind,  body and spirit.  It also brings up an interesting point.  Putting this law in tangile form in your home and on your person,  is like putting up a post-it note.  Remember God.  Remember to honor God in all the apects of your life.

Write these words on your heart . . . memorize it.

A good reminder.

After breakfast,  I eat breakfast at home.  And head for NM.   As always it's fun to work with Matt.  I look forward to working with him.  Also we are beginning to draw in customers.  And these customers want to change themselves.  They want to improve their lives.  So at the end of the day,  we have done very well.  We say that to Jeff,  "What can you expect with two very cute people working the store."  And Jeff brought up, " you guys are adorable which trumps cute."  That may be true but you have to be one with your essence and we are cute with a taste of adorable.  (private joke)

Soon Em will be going to Israel.  This Thursday.   In honor of her trip we eat dinner at P.F. Changs.  I love that restuarant.  Their flavors are delicious.  Bobby and Em are there when we arrive.  Luckily Luke called in our reservation so we are seated right away.  I am torn between scallops and my old fav spicey eggplant.  I pick scallops because I know that Em is going to pick the eggplant and will give me a piece.  I add brown rice and spicey green beans.  So amazing.
I think about one of Chang's tiny desserts but decide I'd rather have a 100 cal ice cream cup at home.

The kids are cute as always.  They will miss each other.  I wish Bobby could have gone with Em.  Hopefully we can spend some time with him--two weeks fly by.

Please everyone who reads this blog.  Pray,  pray,  pray for Willow.  She isn't doing well.  Oh Lord,  she's only three years old.  Please heal her.  Please heal Willow.
