Went to Church. Finally. Pastor gave an amazing sermon. He started with one of my fav reading from 1 Kings 19:11-13a
" He said, "Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by." Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence and he went out and stood at the entrace of the cave.
Psalms 46:10-11
"Be still and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth." The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge."
Pastor talked about listening for the still small voice of God within. Going to Him when we don't know what else to do. He gave a lot of examples of people in our congregation who did that and the remarkable results in their lives.
Pastor said that in his own life God doesn't always talk to him quietly. Once God told him three times that he should visit Helen, a very sick congregant. Each time God would speak and Pastor would have an excuse as to why he shouldn't visit Helen. Finally, he gave in. He walked into Helen's home to find that she had worsened and was hoping for him to come and pray with her before she left her earthly journey.
After church, I went to work. N.M. was busy. The last day of our sale. I was able to help a number of customers. I hope that everyone benefits.
Jeff said that sunday was the best day of the sale. Matt and I always like to hear that. We kid around and say that cute people are always winners.
This was my best day for walking. I stood on my feet for the longest time since my accident. No kidding. I believe that my good day came about from losing weight, exercising every day. And the work Dr K has done with me. I'm so happy. I've been working on this weight loss program since last June. I started by giving up sweets , except for the the 100 calorie treats and then only one or two a day. Then adding more veggies. That's it. And slowly, slowly I've lost weight. Yay.
