Sunshine. Sunshine. Trees blowing in the wind. Nature is a great teacher. Plants grow under the sun and sky. They rest in winter. Moving in God's rhythm. The winds blows. The trees move not more, not less than than the energy of the wind. As human's beings it's good when we can emulate nature. Being in touch with what is natural in ourselves. Not more, not less than what we feel. To do that, we have to know what we're feeling--not on the surface, not the skittering voices of our ego, but deep within. That takes silence. And attention. What's really going on?
How can you decide what you want for breakfast if you don't listen to yourself.
Once I was undecided. What to have for breakfast? So I warmed up some old leftovers. I knew they wouldn't taste good, but why waste. I hated breakfast. Ugg. The taste of old food clouded the rest of my day. I didn't do that again. No, breakfast isn't superficial. If you can't choose a tasty, healthful breakfast , what will you do in the face of larger decisions?
I got things done today that will change and benefit Luke and my home and our lives. Ricky is a godsend. He's part decorater, and part contractor. And he listens to what we want. He's going to help me organize the little room where I like to eat, watch t.v. and work. I have a beautiful big studio to work in. But I nested down in this room and that's my chosen work center.
Luke and I spent the afternoon organizing our shedule. Picking a day for Violetta's party, and other calendar items that had to be decided. Then we did the Target thing. We didn't find the baby gift we were looking for, so I'm back to the drawing board with that. We did find a cute pair of socks for Violetta, and a cute purse for me to wear to the Carmel Symphony Gala.
Oh I got the sweetest call today. I actually wasn't planning on going to the Gala. I knew that I should, but it seemed easier not to. M didn't want to work for me. Who could blame him with all that overtime at his day job. He would have, but I think it's wrong to take advantage of friendship. So, I try not to. Back to sweetest call. I love Allen D. He called me and told me that he loves Luke and me and wants us be his quests at the Carmel Symphony Gala. He thinks it would be important for us to be there. I told him how much I appreciated the invitation but I'd have to see if I could get a replacement at work. About a minute later, my boss called and told me that M didn't get overtime and wants to work for me. He's saving for a big trip. So the wind blew and a higher power made my decision for me. I love that.
When Luke and I went to Target, as we were approaching the door, a target wagon rolled over to us. Another sweet happening.
Target didn't have the right toy for Violetta . So we went to Half Price Books. It's a mess there. You go to Half Price books (especially the kids section) when you have oodles of time. Like a few hours. I knew we wanted to pick up Boston chicken and head home for Jeopardy. As soon as I walked over to the bookshelves, there were 3 books that worked for V. They were lying on the floor appart from the masses in the shelves. We looked a while longer but didn't find anything else. Wow. Thanks universe. Thank's God.
We left happy. At Boston Chicken, Luke went inside to pick our dinner. We usually get 1/2 chicken and sides for each of us--enough for 2 or even 3 dinners. This time, we got 1/4 chicken. I was upset at first because I like the Boston Chicken to last. Then I realized, that we're eating out for the next 3 nights. So I wouldn't have wanted more than 1/4 of a chicken. Again. More little miracles.
