What?  Snow on the ground.  How is that possible?  I was just running around without socks or coat.  It was only a dusting.  But still.

I got most of my routine done.  I was so well organized.  There were many things to do before
one p.m. when we had to be on the road for B town.  We are taking X to a birthday party and we have to be on time--no room for error.

Yes.  All got done as planned.  I wish I had gotten gas yesterday even though it rained,  and even thought I was tired.  There was drama at the gas pump.  Luke couldn't log in.  A bitter cold wind made him shiver and time was slipping by.  Finally he went into the garage and they beeped him into the system.  It took what seemed like an hour.  There went our lovely stop at Starbucks in Martinsville.  Oh well.

We had fun conversations and a peaceful drive.  Except that Luke got tired and his eyes were closing on the highway.  Hum.  I asked him if he wanted to pull over and let me drive.  He had a few chocolate mints instead--The NEW ALTOIDS dark chocolate dipped mints.  There original celebrated mints kept him awake until we got to X's school.

We dropped X off at his Bday party.  Then went to yay Boarders.  Luke went to tour the music department at IU where he taught for so many years.  I love to have Boarders to myself.  I studied a gardening magazine and dreamed of turning my back yard into a mystic paradise of plants and trails and benches and what not.  Then did some writing.  Heaven.  All while drinking very good organic coffee.

We picked X up.  He won 3 chocolate candies at the party,  and had a great time.

Then we met Rain and the rest of the family at Lenny's--a restaurant that Rain and I used to go to when she was pregnant with X.  We had a lot of fun.  Violet was so tired.  But still fun to see.  She was reading a little booklet on her boys--The Wiggles.  I need to learn some of their songs so we can bond more.  X and I bond over pet society.

The drive home clear trails.  Peaceful in the dark.  Soft conversations.  So relaxing.  We are helping each other to move beyond blocks.  More on this at another time.
