Out in the yard the snow is still piled high.  But . . . the end of January sun is shining.  It's cold.  No animal prints on the snow.  I think its too deep and not hard enough.  Maybe they know they might fall through.  Animals have amazing instincts.

I have an earlyish apointment with Dr K.  I don't have time to make the bed,  do my exercises or eat a normal breakfast.  I have cheese on a piece of amazing whole grain, organic raisin bread.
And not bad coffee.  Sometimes I don't get the proportions right.  I didn't today.

The sun is shining,  making the drive cozy.  I talk to MKate and pass my turn onto 56th street.  I'm a little late,  nothing new here--it's Ashley time.  How lucky am I that most people in my life are o.k. with Ashley time.  And in return,  I'm not fussy about them being on time.

When I don't exercise the adjustments hurt more.  Oh well.  That will teach me.  I could have squeezed in 5 minutes.  That's what I would have told one of my students.

It's cold.  The sun is still melting the snow,  but I need my scarf.  I deserve my Chai Latte today.
I go to the bank.  I have to park away from the front door.  The floor of the garage is slushy.  Like I mentioned,  you can't put a cane onto wet and expect traction.  I had to walk without the cane (very good for me)  and I got some great exercise in the fresh air.  I'm not used to that--even when I'm not leaning on a cane.  I cheat,  holding on to some car butts.  And putting the cane onto the occasional dry spot.

At home,  I get a call from my student,  A.  She forgot the lesson and wants a phone lesson,  and I forgot the lesson because I always see Dr K on Wednesday--so this had to be Wednesday even though it was really Friday.  O.K.  Moving on.  We do our phone lesson.  It's a hard time for A.  Both her parents are ill.  We worked on how yoga might help her to go through this time,  and come closer to the inner self as well.  Not easy.

Nature's Market is cold.  I put my coat on the chair between my back and the front door.  Also I wear my green wool scarf.   I love to work at NM.  People are so interesting and and sometimes they are ready for help and for a positive change.

The ride home is bitter cold.  It takes my car a long time to warm up.  I'm so grateful to have a warm home.  Thank you Lord for your blessings and grace in our lives.
