Got up early (for me) and went through my morning routine quickly so I could have lunch with Rain in B-town. It can take me two hours to get there--with a Starbucks break (not long). I love the drive in good weather. I talk to friends, listen to tapes, think, write songs, work on my play, enjoy the beautiful scenery on route 37S. It's just a heavenly time. I LOVE IT.
Rain and I ate lunch at a cute little place next to her work. I had white bean soup in a tomato base that was just yummy. We talked about the kids and just enjoyed each other's company. Then we got more Starbucks, and went up to her office to drink it. I hadn't seen her office before, it's large and light and beautiful. Decorated with a mix of spiritual and family.
I picked up Xavier from school. He was so excited. He won a chocolate kiss from his teacher for helping to clean up a mess quickly. (He isn't usually so cooperative and he was delighted with the positive reaction.) A friend gave out fun erasers and candy. And his best friend gets to spend a few days with him while his parents are out of town. X is like me. He makes best friends wherever he goes.
At home, we did art projects. I showed X two real art books and how varied artist are. He loves Van Gogh's Starry Night. He draws amazing aliens.
We went to the Golden Corral for dinner. Jen met with friends. X and I met R (son-in-law) and Violetta. The Corral is such a lively, happy place. People know us there and the kids eat well. They can get what they want and eat it in a fun atmosphere. When I walked in, Violetta reached out her little arms to come to Gamma. She is the sweetest. R and I love the Corral as well. The food is so delicious and there's such a huge variety. Whatever you're in the mood for. And they have good lettuce for the salads. (All this and heaven too.)
I'm a people watcher. That makes the Corral fun as well. So many people. All enjoying themselves.
Then I took the peaceful drive home. It's nice to drive in the dark. I talked to my sister, and found out that Bill, the Raike healer, has helped her a lot in just two sessions. I'm delighted. She's been through some hard times lately with her health. A nun may be moving in to her house as an upstairs tenant. They'll pray together and it will be great.
When Luke got home, I expected him to be totally exhausted. He wasn't. Good news all around.
Family is such a miracle of love and preciousness.
