Today was fab. Luke and I went shopping for his early Christmas gifts. Usually he complains and won't be nice to himself. Today was different. We went to Penny's where they were having a great sale. (you know--the after Thanksgiving sale) We got there very late. Yay!!!! No crowds.
We went right to the men's department. I was so disappointed. They didn't seem to have many choices. I don't get around easily (the miracle that I'm waiting for is that I will soon). I suggested that Luke look around. He called me over to where he had hold of a gorgeous red jacket--exactly what he was looking for. He has never had a warm coat. Really. This will keep him warm, and he will look young and cool. He didn't even look at the price.
I saw a top that will be perfect for Christmas eve. I didn't try it on, but I'm sure that it will fit. I can always bring it back if I don't like it. It was also on sale.
We felt giddy. It was really Luke's first good winter coat. Made by Ralph Lauren. I'm so proud of him. This was a miracle. The lady at the register,( I think she was a manager) gave us early door buster sale prices even though it was technically beyond time. We saved $122!!! on a name brand coat.
Then I took Luke for a pedicure. He loves them and so do I. That was also part of the early gift.
A family was there first. I heard them talking about a Starbucks run. I asked them if the Starbucks was close by. I really wanted a Latte. The woman, Danielle, told me that she'd get me what I wanted. I gave her my card. I thought lucky me. When she returned, she told me that she hadn't used my card--that it was a Christmas gift. I told her that I counted her kindness as part of today's miracles and that I'd include it in my miraclesproject.
Another little miracle. At first the staff at Lovely Nails told us that they wouldn't be able to take us for an hour. I knew we couldn't sit around for an hour--and I had to be at work by 5. We had to wait for the latte, so we didn't get up and leave . Not 2 minutes later, someone came to tell us that they could take us right away.
At work, MKate made me tea. We worked and talked. I'm so blessed .
